National Maal Hijrah 1447H/2025M Celebration Unites Over 8,000 Attendees
The National Maal Hijrah Celebration 1447H/2025M was successfully held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), gathering more than 8,000 participants including local communities and international guests.

The event was officiated by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, alongside Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Raja Permaisuri Agong. Distinguished guests included Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Deputy Prime Ministers, Cabinet ministers, foreign diplomats, senior government officials, and the public.

The programme featured the Royal Address by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, followed by the presentation of the National and International Maal Hijrah Awards. Attendees also benefited from a special tausiyyah (sermon) delivered by Professor Datuk Dr Mohd Izhar Ariff Mohd Kashim, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
Carrying the theme “Membangun Ummah MADANI”, the celebration emphasised unity, inclusivity and the importance of balancing spiritual and physical wellbeing. According to the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), the theme underscored values of sustainability, creativity, respect, trust and compassion—principles vital for building a progressive and harmonious society.
The event was broadcast live on RTM TV1 and through JAKIM’s social media platforms, allowing Malaysians nationwide to take part virtually. In conjunction with the occasion, Muslims across the country also marked the new Islamic year 1447H with doa recitations at mosques and suraus.
